What are Services?

Services is a core element for your business to package a distinct offering or experience available for reservation or scheduling by customers. Each service uses resources to ensure that equipment, rooms, seats or people are connected, which is critical to the assessment process when the system generates availability for bookings.

	Things to note
Before you can add services, your Locations and Resources must be active. The resources have to be linked to the relevant locations where the services are offered.

Understanding resource allocations

Before adding a Service, it's important to know how resource allocation works. 

Resource allocations determines how a resource is allocated during the booking process for a Service or Sequence. The allocation settings are pivotal to ensuring that a resource is not double booked or customers are offered services or sequences that aren't available.

Example
Resource Allocation Let's follow on from our previous examples that we used when setting up Resource Categories and Resources. Fit N' Flex Studio offers the Pilates room for public and private use (group & 1-1). The Pilates Room has 10 seats. The resource allocation would apply as per below:
Service	Pilates Room (60 mins)
Resource Category	Pilates Room
Resource Allocation	Seat per Customer
Ratio	1
This resource allocation would allow up to 10 people to book the Pilates Room at the same time.
Service	Pilates Room - Private Group (up to 10)
Resource Category	Pilates Room
Resource Allocation	Resource per Booking
Ratio	1
This resource allocation will allow one person to make a booking for the Pilates room with the ability to add multiple customers/guests on the same booking.

Resource Category	Pilates Room

This resource allocation allows one person to book the Pilates room at one time.
