Sequences

What are sequences?

Sequences allows you to group services together in an ordered list that a customer can book like any other service.

The advantage of using sequences is being able to utilise the relevant resources within the sequence in a specific time slot instead of reserving the resources for the whole time of the booking.

How does it work?

  • You can select any number of services that you want to include in the sequence. Note: Each service must be set up prior to adding a sequence.
  • The length of the sequence is determine by the total length of the combined services. It does not include any buffer time.
  • Sequence buffers can be added between the services. These denote a movement or break that is required between services (i.e. needing to move between locations).
  • The services will be performed in the order in which they are listed, the top being first and the bottom being last.
  • Each service will only be considered to be in use while the customer/s on the booking are actually using the service and during any service buffer time (i.e. each service within the sequence will be available once the attendee who booked the sequence has finished their time in that service, and each service will be available until it is needed for the sequence).

Sequences and Availability

Let's take a look at an example of a sequence and how it works with availability.

Example
Fit N' Flex Studio also has a small plunge pool and sauna that customers can use. On Saturdays they run a circuit event using the weights room, pool and sauna. The following breakdown shows how they can set up a sequence to manage the bookings & usage of resources.

ServiceDurationSequence Buffer
Weights Room45 mins0 mins
Pool20 mins10 mins
Sauna25 mins0 mins

Here's an example if the circuit starts at 8am:

ServiceTime resource is in use and unavailable
Weights Room8:00 - 8:44
Pool8:45 - 9:04
Buffer9:05 - 9:14 (no resource in use)
Sauna9:15 - 9:39

All of these resources will need to be considered during the availability check. The sequence cannot take place if there is any unavailability during any service at any time during the sequence.

Maximum number of customers

The quantity of people who can book a sequence is determined by the location and the resources needed for the sequence. Effectively, the maximum number of people who can book a sequence in a single booking is the required resource with the least amount of capacity.
